What are your favorite scissors? I know a lot of people collect them- do you? Do you hav some that are sentimental favorites?

My favorite to use are the tiny 2 1/2 inch scissors from Premax. My sentimental favorites are a pair of silver Clavelles stork scissors I bought in Athens, Greece.

My favorites are Slip n Stitch.  I've had my pair for about 20 years.  You can still buy them.  They fold up so they are easy to carry and you never have to worry about damaging your fabric.  Nice quality stainless.

I use a pair of Dovo scissors that are curved...I think they are manicure scissors but love them for my cross stitch.  They are always sharp and sturdy.

Honestly, a pair of small gold scissors from a Russian kit off Etsy, I think they were labelled as manicuring scissors, but work wonderfully.

I have a pink with white polka dot DMC pair that I love. I have bought others, but none are like this cheap pair I seem to love ❤️

I’ve been using a pair of Solinger’s for over 20 years. Still super sharp, never used them for anything except thread.

I have a pair of stork scissors that were really cheap......... they have stayed sharp and pointed no matter how many times they have been dropped......... my other more expensive ones with the marble look handles......... have dulled and "sprung" with being dropped.   Not impressed!

absolute favourites - Ginghers, I have 4 pairs - 2 I use and 2 in their boxes, also like Premax and Dovo. Have a pair of Dinky Dyes, Kelmscott and 2 pairs of DMC.

Edited to add also have a pair of Bohin - they're good as well

I second that! I love my little "lion-tail" handle Ginghers for stitching. I also have large Gingher shears for cutting fabric - the best!! I guard them carefully and never let anyone else in the ho  Details Reply Post time 2013-1-18 22:58

I'm yet to start collecting scissors and use a clover cutter instead. Stops me loosing them and stabbing myself:)

I would like to try a pair of Sajou scissors - I love the ones that look like the Eiffel tower.
