[Skill Help] tips: Stitching with silks

I love the feel of silks and have used Au Ver a Soie mainly.  I tend to use these for special projects and have never washed them.  I think for some silks it is not recommended to wash them at all.

Silk is very long lasting and very strong although fine in texture.

There are different kinds of silk to look out for, depending on how they are manufactured - long or short threads - or the way they are twisted or kept flat.  These processes affect the sheen of the silk threads and the cost.  Some silks are very bright and shiny looking.

Have fun!!

I'll keep these in mind if I do a project in silk.  Tiramisu is supposed to be silks, but I'm debating converting it to DMC because I want to start it so bad and the budget does not allow for silks yet.
