Ive been wondering.... I've seen the crochet hooks with the fat handles and was wondering if they made enough difference to warrant replacing my old ones.  Can anybody give advice?

I made a handle cover for one of my hooks with rainbow loom elastics - that's always the one I go for now, it's very comfortable. You can buy the fatter handled ones on ebay from China - a whole set will probably be about the same as one hook from your local craft store, admittedly they may not be quite as smooth but I've heard good things and the one set I got isn't as good as my old ones but it's fine (and a lot more comfortable to use).

I use clover amour and they were a game changer after using cheap aluminium hooks. I can't comment on the very large handles. Maybe you could use a pencil grip on one of your own to see whether it's suitable?

Para mí funcionan mejor los gordos, no importa si son acolchados o duros, pero tienen que ser lisos. Si tienen algún grabado, letras o figuras, me molesta en los dedos.

As far as I know I have more or less the same thing. the only difference is that they are more comfortable to handle and should not tire of the hand when working.

It depends on how long you crochet per day, if it's a lot then the handles keep your hand from aching.
