Anyone have any good artisan/flavored breads?  I make and orange rosemary bread, garlic parmesan bread, and regular yeast bread.  Only quickbreads I make are zucchini and banana.  Anyone have a good bread recipe that I can try?

I love fresh bread. Do you make it by hand or use a bread machine?

The older ones were built to last. Newer appliances are built to break so we have to replace them.  Post time 2017-1-28 05:09
I love it. I am used to peeling dough from under my nails and stuff. lol This kitchen aid is 30 years old, but it's still working perfectly.  Post time 2017-1-27 10:36
Lucky You ! I have a kitchen aid on my wishlist :)  Post time 2017-1-25 23:35
By hand usually, but I was recently gifted a kitchen aid! So now the kitchen aide mixes it. lol Sometimes I still have to do a little by hand.  Post time 2017-1-25 07:11

It's just a standard issue yeast bread for sandwiches, Sundrop.  ;)

4½ t yeast
½ c sugar
2 t salt
½ c softened butter
2 c warm water
+/- 6 c flour

Mix all that.  Add enough flour to make a good dough.  Knead till smooth and elastic.  =)
Let rise till doubled, about 1 hour (1 hour with my rapid rise yeast).
Divide into two for loaves, or into 20 rolls.  Put in prepared pans.
Let rise again, 20 minutes.
Preheat oven 425 (it finishes rising during this part)
Back for 18 - 20 min, golden brown and clean toothpick

I use salted butter to grease my pans, and I brush some more salted butter across the tops when done.
