I understand if it's used on lower count xs fabric but how about high counts linen? seems impossible to do this..:(

Good post, I used this method with starting on linen! Waste knots are great with metallics too! :D

I use the 'loop' method for starting, using a long piece of thread ( single strand) fold in half and ...

I use this method too... I don't need to feel afraid my stitches will become loose...
