Historical Sewing?

Does anybody else here like historical sewing? I noticed in the sewing magazine downloads one of Janet Arnold's books and a vintage magazine so I guess at least one other person on the site does, but I don't know if they're from this group or not.So anybody?
If so what are your favourite time periods, and things from then to sew or other crafts?

I like historical sewing but i don't know how to do any of it. Would be great to learn. I just crochet and was thinking of picking up cross stitching.
