An Amish style swift is a great option.

Ordered mine through amazon, ChiaoGoo Amish Design Wooden Yarn Swift. They have several options to choose from.

I bought the Boye swift. It was terrible! I have resorted to using my knees to keep the hank tight and then wind into a ball. Its tricky but I was desperate
