I fell in love with these socks the first time I saw the pattern - not really hard, but the heel flap has to be stranded in both directions (knit and purl).

Mostly, it's just a matter of practice and making sure you keep your strands loose enough to stretch. The back of your work should look like you have lots of little yarn smiles, LOL :)
