I do both.  I prefer crochet Amigarumi though.  I haven't knitted very many toys.  I mostly knit accessories..maybe someday clothes.

I've knit one doll. I usually knit sweaters. I know crochet as well but haven't done amigurmi. I think this is cute but not for me.

I love to do both.  When my hands get sore doing one, I switch.

I prefer the look of knitting to the look of crochet.

I also do them in crochet, never knitted, at least up to know.  I know how to knit as well but I only use it for sweaters

I knit and crochet, but I have never knitted toys.  I find, overall, that when I crochet, I can improvise, but when I knit I pretty much have to know "where the pattern is going" - amigurumi is a specific art term coined to cover crochet.  Back in the day, we called them stuffed toys and left it at that..... :)  Does seem to be popular nowadays--maybe it is just easier to crochet stuffed toys than to knit them ?  I don't know.
