A collegue of my work did cross stitching, I told her I would never learned it.
My first project was smell bag, counting was difficult, she said don't give up, now I have made a lot of projects. :D
I learned in school 7th grade to whole class was given a small kit . Looking back that little pic would take maybe two hours but took a week worked on it everyday as homework.
I just decided I wanted to try it and picked up a pattern. Only thing is I must have misread the instructions so my crosses are the opposite of most stitchers. By the time I realized that I "stitch backwards" there was no going back and relearning.
We learnt in school. Mums would volunteer their time to come in and teach small groups of the children. Wish children today had the same opportunities to learn crafts in schools
