Fray-stop is great stuff. :3 I wonder if people apply it in different ways, though? I put a thick line of it on a sheet of wax paper (and tape the paper to the table ahead of time, so it doesn't move) and then dap the edge of my fabric in the glue a short span at a time. I have seen people paint it on a few centimeters wide at the edge with a brush... how do you do it? :o
I always use FrayChek. I have used the FrayChek for years. I find that that particular glue leaves the fabric pliable and not stiff. Also, it is washable. I have tried other glues as well, but prefer the FrayChek. It also dries clear. Try it....think you might like it.
I make a sewed zigzag all around my work the way my machine does it is that it does 3 straight stitches in one way then 3 on the other way. I tried stitching the side by hand but my work would still fringe a lot then I tried a normal zigzag stitch but my work would still fray so I tried this stitch and it works great finally :)
I just zigzag it on my sewing machine - it hardly takes any time at all - I can do all 4 sides of a piece in less than 5 minutes, and get to use up the extra thread on my bobbins from whatever I was working on last that way too.
