what does Replies visible to author only means

i got that as an answer of a few of my post

Only the person who wrote the reply can see it. Example if you wrote a reply to a bounty post you can see what you wrote (then and if you were to return to the post) but none of the other members replies.

I believe the purpose in the bounty section is that if you reply with a link to your post of the requested chart it is now publicly identifying you as the poster, the board is trying to protect our identities. Hope that makes sense.

Because of privacy users who upload patterns and then leave link as reply in Bounty area,we make all replies invisible.
Moderators can see reply,and when pattern uploader leave link as reply, we will send message to bounty owner what to set as best answer.
