A chatelaine can be useful for transporting your sewing necessaires around with you, say if you are stitching in the garden etc. You have your sewing tools readily to hand.
My version was inspired by the pattern by Il Telaio - Chatelaine and I used that as a starting point. I stitched it on a wider band than that used by Il Telaio, 50 stitches wide rather than 40, and I used a number of different motifs from magazines and books.
The chatelaine has three pockets for little sewing tools and notions, a scissor pocket and some rings for flosses and ribbons etc.
Some of the motifs were embroidered one over one, and I used cross stitch, algerian eyelets, rhodes heart etc for certain details.
