Tierra is a bottom-up, crescent shaped shawl with a distinctive ruffled border and a row of gently bending flower buds on a reverse stockinette ground. Tierra may be worn draped around the shoulders as a long scarf, pinned with a shawl pin, or wrapped around the shoulders and neck on fall and winter days to remind you of things to come.

Tierra is worked in Knitpicks Diadem fingering weight yarn, which is a 50% silk/50% alpaca blend, but could easily be worked in other finger weight yarns. A yarn with some sheen will best show off the flower buds in the reverse stockinette. The sample shown is approximately 57”/144 cm at widest point and 13”/33 cm long at center and uses approximately 650 yards of fingering weight yarn on US size 3 3.25 mm circular needles, including a generous swatch.
