Using Marbles
I saw there are a lot of cross stitcher in this site very interested with my 3D Russian Dolls. I want to give a tips "using marbles" as a weight so the dolls can stand up very well. From the picture you can see the marbles must be glue on the cards first. Then you can use the double tape to glue the cards on aida clothes. Nice to try:victory::)
Other ideas: When weighting dolls, choose materials like glass beads, plastic pellets, or fine sand to add weight without bulk. Start by sewing or filling small bags or pouches with your chosen weight material, then place them strategically in the doll’s body—usually in the torso, bottom, or limbs—to help it sit or stand better. Make sure to distribute the weight evenly to avoid imbalance. Secure the weights inside tightly so they don’t shift around during handling or play. If the doll has a fabric body, consider using a separate inner lining or pocket to keep the weights contained and protect the outer fabric from wear. This will give your doll a nice heft and stability without compromising softness or flexibility.
Great tip! You can sometimes get flat marbles at the dollar store. I used to buy them at Beverly's but our store closed awhile ago. Thanks for sharing!or sharing. Thank you very much for sharing!
