When you are working with silk, you must not stitch with large threads. And you need creme for your hands.

I use silk threads usually for sampler patterns or for monochrom cross stitch works...I am already lost...I am addict.....

I love silk fibers and use them often, much to my wallets dismay :>) ! Belle Soie is wonderful, but if you want an inexpensive silk, I recommend Vicki Claytons.She has some beautiful colors, the quality is great, and you cant beat the price.

I love stitching with silks:DGloriana is my favorite in the expensive category but I mostly use Vikkis.Carries are also wonderful.

Very nice post. Wonderful photos...I just want to grab those flosses! Ive only ever used cotton flosses...DMC, Weeks Dye Works and what comes in kits but Id love to try these beautiful threads!

I love Vikki Claytons silks, her fabric is lovely too.Do remember though to make sure you put hand creme on or rough hands will snag the silk.

If you are worried about colour fastness, make a few stitches on a piece of scrap white fabric.Moisten a paper tissue and dab the stitches.If any colour comes off onto the tissue, you have your answer!Either wash the thread and risk losing the original shade, or make sure your hands and work area are pristine throughout your project.
