As you can see, it all comes down to preference. When I use 3 strands to cross stitch, I use 2 for b ...

Thank you for the tip. I might use 2 strands for the backstitch. I like it also if my project looks fuller.

Have a nice day! ^_^

I always just use one strand - I think it is neater and quite sufficient for outlines etc - it makes ...

Oh, okay.. Thank you. Do you always use one strand for backstitches even if you use 3 strands for crossstitching?

Pienso como Jazzi aunque nunca he trabajado nada con tres hebras. Lo que si hago es hacer el pespunte un tono mas oscuro que la parte donde va perfilado y queda mejor

I/ve only ever heard of using 2 strands on 11 count fabric.Everything else is just 1 strand.

It is entirely up to the look you want. I stitched some ornaments over 2 on 32 count, so it was 16 count. The pattern said to use 1 strand of floss, but because of the look of the ornament I tried 2 lines and it looked much better. But for some of the small detail areas I used just 1. In one place I even used 3!I would say in the 14 - 18 count range, test and see which looks better for the effect you are going for.

Hi, most patterns call for one strand but its like others have said its personal preference. If you think it needs two then use two :)
