How to Wind a Center Pull Ball of Yarn-by Hand-part 2
Edited by Bleu at 2015-3-31 18:02there are 2 ways of doing this
1. with a large knitting needle or a large size dowel [ a broom handle will do
2. or using your hand
i am discribing the first method
prepair your yarn.
unwrapping the yarn. draping the looped yarn over a back of a chair can help keep the yarn more stable.
decide what form of rod or stick like tool you are going to use. suggestion the bigger the faster :lol
1. Tie a slip knot and attach the yarn to the rod.
2 then slip the knot onto the stick/rod/ dowel/knitting needle and gently tighten it.
3. start winding it
holding the end of the yarn down with one hand, begine winding the yarn on the stick/rod/ dowel/knitting needle. Keep in mind with this step it doesnt have to be perfect.
continue winding the yarn onto your tool, over the top of the first coating of yarn you created in the previous step. eventurally youre going to twist all of the yarn into a ball on your tool. Try a figure 8 patern while winding. keeping the ball circular
continue to wind until your yarn is all on your tool.
3. slide the tool out of the yarn.
now you have a center pulled ball of yarn.
