I use pillow stuffing. Works good for me, can be washed (never used the machine, only hand wash) and doesnt loose form.

I use for fillings, sintepon or holofayber, they keep the shape of toys well and quickly dry after cleaning. I also saw toys that were filled with herbs and paralon or grain.
