How To Knit: The Risotto Stitch

Abbreviations
k - knit p - purl
1st row (RS): K.
2nd row: P1, * P2 tog and K2 tog into same 2 sts, rep from * to last st, P1.
3rd row: K.
4th row: P2, * P2 tog and K2 tog into same 2 sts, rep form * to last 2 sts, P2.
Note
Working into same stitches (A), 2nd row (WS): Insert the right-hand needle purlwise through the next 2 sts on left-hand needle, draw through a loop but do not allow sts to drop off needle.
Working into same stitches (B), 2nd row: Take the yarn to the back of the work between the needles.
Working into same stitches (C), 2nd row: Now insert the right-handle needle knitwise through the same 2 sts again. Draw through a loop and allow sts to drop off needle.
