picot cast on
i watched 2 videos. one by new stitch a day and the other by knittingtipsbyjudy. i preferred the looks of the first one better.Cast on 5 stitchesBind of 2 stitches. The stitch that is left over from the 2stitch bind off put back onto the left hand needle. Cast on 3 more stitches. Bind off 2 stitches. Again transfer worked stitch back over to the left handneedle. Continue in this matter until you have the number of stitchesyou need.
the second method
Step 1: Take a length of yarn from your ball of yarnStep 2: Make a slip knot and insert the needle into the loop. Tighten slipknot onto needle. This is your first stitchTip: Be sure to leave enough on the tail of the yarn to weave in later.Step 3: Take your second needle and insert the tip into the stitch with theneedle under your main needle. Insert at an angle so your needles cross formingan “X”.Step 4: Hold your crossed needles together where they intersect with yournon-dominant hand.Step 5: With your dominant hand take the yarn connected to your ball andwrap it around the bottom needle. Begin by going under, around, and then over.Step 6: Take the bottom needle and bring it back through the stitch pullingthe yarn with it.Step 7: With the yarn still on the needle in your dominant hand, stretch theyarn out in front of you main needle and slip the tip of your main needlethrough.Step 8: Remove the needle in your dominant hand and tighten the yarn ontothe main needle.Repeat steps 3-8 until you have reached the desired amount of stitches onyour needle
