It is a huge deal, I felt the same when I read about it and have been doing it ever since, its just so easy and makes the backs a little neater.

I do a loop thread start too. It is so much easier and neater to use.

Ive always used the loop start method! Practically since my first kit Ive just decided that it would be easier to do it this way. I didnt realize that there was a method or a name for it though. I just thought it made sense to do it this way as you reduce the tug and drag on the thread, and you get more thread out of the same length. ;P
