Any yarn will brush out well - but pure wool will brush out best and not loose its structure because when it is spun all the fibres are aligned one way.
Mohair brushes well also - but you need to be gentle with the fibres they are delicate.

Another new technique to me! Thank you for sharing.
The brush for the dog is the same as the brush for carding wool. This is possible to help your brushing of yarn? I wish it will be.
Good luck learning this technique!

Good day, there are people who use 100% Acrylic wool and then at work use steel brush

Theres a cat pattern Im planning on knitting and it was suggested you use a soft bristle hair brush. You can buy them cheap just about anywhere.

I use a wire pet brush, also called a "slicker" brush. You can find them at any pet store and places like Walmart or Target.
