Septimas Asymmetrical Shawlette by Linda Browning
This small shawl has some big angles! Combining a bit of lace with a bit of texture, Septima’s Shawlette was designed for variegated yarns. Even with vibrant color changes, the lines and lace shine through. Knitted from the top down, this pattern is very flexible – you may easily adjust the size to suit your taste and your yarn. This pattern is asymmetrical in several ways. The increases are not symmetrical, though they continue to grow in consistent directions. Also, the fabric has two textures: stockinette stitch lace with strong diagonals and a simple stretch of garter stitch.
Septima’s Shawlette was designed with variegated yarns in mind. The garter section may look quite plain if you use a solid color. Variegated and tonal yarns are recommended.
