Hat is worked from the bottom up, smaller needles used for the ribbing to ensure a snug fit. Superwash merino will grow quite a bit after blocking, so make sure to measure gauge AFTER blocking and stretching. You should choose a size 1-2 inches smaller than your actual head measurement.
