What is Digest please?

Hello all,

I am just wondering what the "Digest" part of our membership is please? Can anyone please explain this to me or point me in the right direction where I can read about it?

A digest is a thread that is given special recognition for being outstanding.
Digests are awarded by moderators and are rare.

Still counting... and question is the same in 2025.
I think this is because the word "digest" doesn't really fit by it's meaning to what it really is :D
