How to determine hand/finger size

I have a pattern that starts at the fingers which are very small so, they are just wrapped wire. There are no length or width measurements given. Since, obviously the pattern is worked from the fingers up it will affect the size of the hand and arm. Does anyone know what I should do? Thank you!

To determine hand size for a knitted glove pattern, start by measuring the circumference of the widest part of your hand, usually around the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Next, measure the length from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger to get the glove’s length. It’s also helpful to measure the circumference around the wrist and the length from the wrist to the base of the fingers for a better fit. Compare these measurements to the gauge of your yarn and needles to adjust your stitch count and row numbers accordingly. Taking accurate measurements ensures the glove will fit comfortably without being too tight or loose.

Its hard to answer. Each of us have different size hand/finger. I would recommend to make a sample, wash-dry and then count the stitches. And then change the patter according to your owm mesaurenment
