Help! Exporting Patternmaker charts into pdf file

Hi everyone,

I have been making some designs in Patternmaker and when i print them out they are nicely set up (split over multiple pages and laid out well), however when i export them to a graphics file, they do not look nicely laid out anymore.

Does anyone know how I can export them to a pdf looking exactly the same way they do in the page layout for printing? I want to give them to friends and would like them to look nice and big to be used easier.

Is PC Stitch any better for that?

Thanks

I should add that for now I am exporting the picture to a graphics file then saving it as a pdf but it means the pattern is not spread out over multiple pages and is just all smushed up tiny on a page like a photo :/

The best way to get a pattern from XSD to PDF is to print it. If you get a pdf printer its easy as pie. Personally, I use CutePDF (its free, but double check that before downloading. Its been awhile since I had to install it. lol) as its the smallest, easiest one Ive found. Once you have that (or something like it) installed, you just hit print, select your pdf printer and tell it to print. Itll do its thing, then ask you where you want to save your file.

This method is also great for saving web pages, and printing other things to PDF quickly and easily.

Hope that clears it up. :)

I dont make patterns in Pattern Maker, I only view them, change some symbols etc. And when Im ready I make a pdf with PDF Creator. I do this also with patterns from PC Stitch. Its so easy, you can click on print and instead of print with you printer (on paper), you print with your PDF Creator and get a PDF.

Thanks for the useful information.I dont own a printer but being able to convert a pattern maker pattern to a pdf would make it easier to share patterns with friends who dont own PCs.
Clever!!

I just learned that you dont need a pdf creator to turn a pattern maker pattern into a pdf.I just went to print and one of the options was mircrosoft print to pdf.I selected that and it turned the pattern into a pdf.I didnt need a printer to make it happen either.
Really easy to do.Wish Id figured this out sooner.
