Alas, inflation has hit PinDiy
I have heard some complaints about the high prices of crochet patterns, which is true and those gold coins are spent very quickly but, we ARE playing with house money. We get a free pattern so, I think all the complaints are ridiculous. Thats my two cents on the matter. Not complaint here!This is a game where any member has the opportunity to participate exploring and downloading patterns! (For free) More participation more coins!! I dont know, depends on what you think this forum should be about. If you think about it as a game, then it really just comes down to what you do individually and patterns are rewards. It becomes all about you, and youre only participating to get GC. Personally I kind of see a problem in that. It encourages people to make meaningless comments, duplicate uploads under a slightly different name at a higher price, etc. all because they are so darn desperate to earn GC. There used to be a more social aspect to this forum which has slowly but steadily disappeared, perhaps because then people thought this primarily was a place to share patterns with one another and our love of craft. I rather miss that, even though there were those who abused it. I also in general miss that attitude that it isnt all about GC.
While I have no qualms over pricing members choose to use, it does concern me that most posts are purely driven to create currency to "buy" patterns. I would love intelligent conversation about craft, or even about someones day and whats happening in life as a whole, but posts like these just seem to go unanswered most of the time :( I understand what you mean ldee13 but I also think people dont have to get crazy about pricing, it sometimes prices people out from being able to get things in a reasonable amount of time without having to dream up things to write or reply to. Its nice when it can be a fair balance. We should have to participate to earn to download that is only fair. Great topic to chat about, thanks :) Youre welcome. I HAVE skipped over patterns because the price was too high many times actually. And since I do not comment on every pattern I see or thank people in the Bounty area, etc. the coins DO take awhile to get. Maybe a cap needs to be placed on how much someone can charge, like the free patterns can only charge 10 coins.
