Yes, it is time consuming, but the beauty of the modular origami models is that you can make the modules when you have some free time, but you dont have to make them all at once. So you can make them on the bus, or on a break while studying or working. The only real time-consuming parts are at the begining, when you choose the model and at the end when you have to assemble the pieces.
