.I prefer to use evenweave or linen. They are much softer and nicer to work with. I always use qsnaps though, I cannot stitch while just holding fabric in my hand.

I much prefer the texture and look of evenweave, it seemed daunting at first but now I dont like to work with aida. Though the stiffness of aida is useful for certain applications sometimes. I always stitch with a very taught hoop which helps.
