Curling work
Edited by anniekins at 2019-4-19 10:23Hello everyone,
Ive just started a round blanket, using two strands at a time. Im using a 6mm hook but the thread is supposed to be used along with a 4mm hook. Can this be the reason why my work is slightly curling? The middle is not exactly flat, I have to stretch it a little to get it entirely flat.
Would you recommend using a 8mm hook instead (unfortunately, I dont have the 7mm hook! ^^)
Thank you!
I understand that the number of stitches are not enough for that hook size... you can increase the numbers a bit or use 4 mm hook Maybe a bigger hook or stiches more loose :) Have you done a gauge swatch? static/image/common/user_online.gif Silverlea static/image/common/clock.gif 2019-4-21 23:55

It is very important to swatch.Your stitch height could be off and this can lead to cupping,it could cause your project to either have wavy edges, or cup, even if you are using the appropriate hook for the yarn and are following the pattern exactly. There is a ratio of diameter to circumference that has to happen to keep the piece flat, and stitch height matters and is something that varies between crocheters, like tension.
