N00b question... XSD and PCS formats?

Edited by anniekins at 2019-4-28 17:18

Hi all, I know this is probably a super newbie question, but theres a cross stitch pattern I want to download and it doesnt come in PDF, only XSD and PCS. I understand PCS is PC Stitch? Which is a problem for me because I have a Mac and I use MacStitch. Is there any way to convert these files to PDF? Or do I need the softwares? Are the softwares available for Mac?

Im sorry, I know thats a lot of questions but Im so new here lol

Thanks in advance!

The pattern in question is: http://www.pindiy.com/thread-369011-1-1.html

Thank you for your reply.

Is it possible for me to ask anyone to make the pdf? Is it allowed? I would of course download the XSD file to pay for it.

Thanks

PCS is PcStich, as you assumed. XSD is the extention for files of a similar program, called Pattern Maker. Both of these are Windows based, and you will need them to open these kinds of files.

Pdfs from repaints (which these files are called) are not allowed on the forum, but you can post a bounty for the pattern, making it clear that you want the scanned version.

Thank you for clarifying about the PDF from a repaint. I didnt know that. is there a reason theyre not allowed?

Hi,
If you go into Pattern Maker files you have the option to print your pattern. One of the options listed is to print as a PDF.Select that. You can then print your pattern out or save it to your computer as a PDF.I dont own a printer so I do this on occasion when I want to share a pattern with a friend who uses an IPAD.

Thank you.

I usually stitch from my phone anyway so I prefer a PDF pattern as opposed to paper ones.
