OwlForest Embroidery - Lukomorye
Hello !Just finish this lovely kit. Its from a russian company/designer. This is the most luxurious kit I have never buy and for a reasonable price if you compare with the price in France :( (2200 roubel / 31 € / 34 $).
The fabric is beautiful, very high quality and already sew on the edge (I dont know the terms in english for french term "surfiler". If somebody can enlight me ! )
The threads are hand-dyed. There is DMC number for the threads but I dont think the result will be as pretty as the hand-dyed floss.
And there is a beautiful needleminder as gift. A very wonderful kit !
I done this as a gift for a couple of friends who own a ukrainian/russian restaurant in my town.
I found the model with a great help from Puppy, from this forum, on slavic culture and lore. Many many thanks to her !
Lukomorye is a fictionnal land in russian folklore and history. The design is base on a tale "By the bay" from Alexander Pushkin.
From what I gather on the net, its a very well know tale in Russia.
