Google Translate

Good Morning Everyone I hope you are having a great start to your week. I as just wondering how you feel about Google Translate to translate patterns. Are there others that you use and if so which do you use.
Have such a great day

Hello Wendy. I have tried in the past to use Google Translate but it is not good enough. Some lines are translated so ridiculously that you really see it is absolutely unreliable. :( I know of no other translator that is good enough to use but will look forward to reading what other users might say. :)

It works for some languages but not others. Norwegian to English is not too bad but English to German is not good. It depends if the sentence structure is the same as the language you are translating towards.

Google translate is ok for small conversation type translation. I would try downloading an app in the specific language you want.

Yes :) If you have a smart phone go to the Play store or Apple store and there are many different translators in there, you will probably have to try a few to see which one suits you :)

Hello there yes I have a smartphone its s Samsung. I also found a really good site where they give the equivalent knitting term eg. Purl in French so what Im going to try is print out the patterns and see if I can try and translate it that way. Maybe at the sometime I can learn to speak another language which in its own would be lovely. HoweverI would look very strange asking someone for directions and what Im actually saying is yarn over and knit two together. I must go back to the page and get the link to post here. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend
