Do people buy their new user group?

Hello.Ive been here for a year or two and youll see from my credits Im woefully short of reaching the next level.Even if I spent all day, every day commenting on posts it would take me forever to get to level 2 and I dont have the stamina for that. Ive read the posts about how to level up but at levelit just seems like options to gain credits are limited unless unless I want to camp on the site.

Im wondering how on earth everyone gets to the higher levels as I imagine the credits needed to advance will increase with each new level.    Do most just purchase the upgrade to the next level?   I see a section in my control center to Purchase user group but hilariously when I press that I get the message, Sorry, your user group is not allowed to purchase user groups.*sigh*.Oh well, I guess Ill just keep doing what Im doing....

Posting a new pattern is not really hard at all. The rules may sound a bit scary but you sound very...

Thank you :)

One of these days Ill maybe find the courage to post a pattern if I find its still missing.

No, people do not buy user groups. Its not possiblefor anyone - to buy themselves into higher user groups. It may be a feature that the forum could offer, but admins have chosen not to allow this feature.

You have to earn your user group. The fastest way to do this is to post new patterns. That will grow your credits faster than just posting comments. The key to advancing your user group level is to be active.

Thank you.Its not that I dont understand how to get credits....I get it.Ive seen that thread and many others like it, many times.Without uploading charts though you people must chatter all day, every day, to get the amount of credits you all have.I just havent the energy or time to want to comment a gazillion times to get enough coins.3447 threads?Arethose topics that youve started or replies to topics?I cant imagine Id ever have that much free time.

Posting a new pattern is not really hard at all. The rules may sound a bit scary but you sound very intelligent and thoughtful... give it a go :) The moderators all all very kind and will help if you have any questions. I hope youll give it a try. Good topic of discussion too!

Im curious how you post patterns on this level as every pattern forum says I cant post new threads, only reply.

According to information available in "settings/points" page you get
0.1 credit for each post,
0.26 credits for each thread,
1.5 credits for each hour spent online.
So theoretically even if you spent just 1 hour each day here without posting anything, but just reading what other people have written, you would earn 10 credits per week.

Good question Boo, I am like you and it is taking forever to go up a level but I have posted a few patterns and that certainly helps
