Bounty

I posted a thread looking for an embroidery sampler and offered the award of 500 points.
My questions are:
1. Why is it THAT expensive to ask for a pattern?
2. Why my account was already deducted from this points? Who says someone will upload it?
Thank you!

1. Scanning and preparing an upload may take time and effort. Preparing a repaint pattern certainly takes a lot of time and effort. Having a 500 coins minimum reward is encouraging to those whom may be able to help.

2. The coins are deducted from your account to make sure the person whom uploads the requested pattern will receive your promised reward.

In most cases, members buy the patterns with real money to upload here.
There needs to be a decent minimum reward amount to make it worthwhile for the member who shares.

The only thing people spend on this site is their time, everything here is still free.

And if no one will upload the pattern - Does it mean I lost 650 expensive points for nothing?

goolit, the coins are taken from your account at the time you open the bounty to make sure there are coins to give to the one whom may upload the pattern youre asking for. It may take time before the pattern is uploaded, and you may not have enough coins at the time when it is, or you may even not be active anylonger. Therefore, to make sure the uploader gets the reward, it is taken out of your account when you post the bounty. I dont think there is another way of going about it, if one wants to make sure a potential upploader gets his/her reward.

Yes, it is possible that the pattern youre asking for is not upoaded, or not for a long time. Your bounty will stay active until it is answered, so you will not get your coins back.
A moderator will contact you if the pattern is uploaded, and tell you what to do next. Moderators can see the replies to your bounty post. The replies are hidden to everyone but moderators for privacy reasons.
