Amigurumi pattern help needed

Hi all crafters!
My cousin is going to have a little girl, so I want to make something special for her!
I know that her favorite animal is a wolf, so I searched inhere for a wolf that I think she might like.
And Ive chosen "Crocheted Wolfdesigned by Theresa", but it is a little small...

Now heres what I need help with:
How do I "make" the pattern bigger?
Increase stitches?
Bigger hook size? Doesnt that just make the space between stitches bigger? And the filling fall out?

I would LOVE to get all the help you can give me!
Thank you ❣

Could you select a larger yarn and hook to create a larger item?   The pattern would be the same but the overall finished piece should be larger.

You can use acryl instead of coton.

Use a heavier yarn *and* a bigger hook: if the pattern calls for a fingering, use a DK yarn. Then follow the pattern exactly, you will get the same object in a bigger size.
