Do you have craft tools that you cherish?

I was gifted a set of crochet hooks when my step dads ex-wife passed away.Interesting, yes?She and my mom didnt really get along, but it wasnt either of their fault. She could not help but be nice to me though because I was just a kid and I was nice to her and her daughter.I asked her to teach me to crochet and she did.So, I got her hooks when she passed away as a little something from her.I have treasured them over the years.Do you have something that you treasure?Hooks?Knitting needles?Embroidery supplies?A spinning wheel?

I dont know if this counts.I love my sewing machine, it was my mothers. She sewed all of mine and my three sisters clothes on it growing up.It still works perfectly. They used to build to last.

My tomato. ;P Ive had it for almost twenty years since leaving sewing school. When I started to crochet, I pulled the old gal out and have been using it almost daily for about a year, pinning pieces before attaching them to the toys Ive made.

I have a specific ornate crochet hook thats somewhat sentimental to me. I purchased it on a day out to the fair with my family, and I bought it specifically for projects for the family which I went on to make. Every time I see the hook I think of that day and those projects I went on to make with it, and even just its ornate design makes me fond of it.

Its not quite in the same spirit as the family heirlooms mentioned in other replies, but I love my Kacha-Kacha row counter (named for the sound it makes when you press the button). It seems pricey for what it is, but after years of using the barrel-shaped ones I finally gave in and got one, and I only wish I got it sooner! So nice not having to use both my hands to turn the dial after every row.

Good question, a sewingmachine Singer from colleagues of my work, was a switchbord operator. One of them was ill for a year, I was searching for work. When she came back, I had to leave and got this present. I was unable to use the foot pennal so they told me it could be switched by hand. It was not possible, but my dad made a lot of jeans shorter, and more, I have the sewingmachine and good memories. :D

A set of wooden crochet hooks and a crocheted Reeces cup. The crochet hooks were given to me by my brother in law before he passed and the crocheted Reeces cup I was in the process of making for him when he passed.
