Welcome to the Forum! Yes, it can be confusing the first weeks and months. Tiers mean level of seniority. As a newbie, your tier is zero. You cannot do much with it. But the longer you are here, the more time you spend browsing the forums and visiting different subforums and threads, the more active you are, the higher your level becomes. Mind you, advancing from level to level is a slow process. Just make sure you come here as often as you can, preferably every day, and preferably several times a day! Each time you log in, you get points. Each time you click on My Center-Tasks (right upper corner) and see that orange button, click on it! Visit different forums, write comments, you will get points for each comment. Visit other member's profiles, you get a point. Make your presense noticeable! What is important to understand is this: the main source of your income (pins) is uploading those patterns, sharing patterns with other members, posting patterns. Just make sure that this pattern has not been here first (you can do it by searching for it first in Search window in upper left corner). When you upload a pattern, you put a price tag on it, say "50 pins". Each time someone downloads your pattern, you get those pins. The more pins you collect, the faster you are moving to next level (tier). The higher is your level, the more things you are allowed to do here, and the richer you become (in pins). The more pins you have at your possession, the more patterns you can buy with them. It's a win-win situation. So there!
