Seraphim Shawl by Miriam L. Felton
Seraphim is a very simple, yet elegant design that makes one think of feathered wings. Using fingering weight yarn gives the solid stockinette upper portion a warmth not found in most lace shawls. It would be perfect to throw over a t-shirt in a drafty room, or could spice up a plain black dress for an evening out. Well-placed eyelets allow the stockinette upper to fades into the lace edging for a subtle effect.Yarn: about 800-900 yards of fingering weight wool (between 7.5 - 8 oz).Gauge: 5.25 rows per inch after blocking. Needles: US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 24” or 29” circular needle. Size: 72” across the top, and 36” from neck to bottom point.
