Knitted Animal Friends is a fantastic book. Ive never knit a stuffed animal before & decided to try.. so fun.

Hard to recommend a book without knowing how experienced a knitter you are and what kinds of items you want to knit.

For very basic patterns, I find The Knitters Handy Book of Patterns by Ann Budd useful. Different sizes and gauges are provided for each pattern, and they are very customizable, like a blank slate.

It really depends what youre looking for. I like the Rowan magazine that comes out in autumn and spring.
