How to cover handles from jewellery pliers?
Edited by anniekins at 2020-9-15 14:10Is there a solution to cover up the handles from jewellery pliers?
Ive got a nice set of pliers and the handles are covered with plastic.
Problem: :( Im getting more and more allergic to that plastic every day.
I covered the handles with a fabric tape: that doesnt stay in place.
Though I started buying pliers without plastic I dont want to throw the old ones away if possible.
Please help me if you know of a solution to this problem!
Can you slip on some gloves? A simple way to protect your hands and not have to cover the handles.
Last night I thought of this solution:
using a piece of French knitted cord on the legs of the pliers.
Im lucky to have several of these ?....? see photo
( what is the word in english for this implement???)
Got them with 4 pins and with 6 pins.
And yes the 4-pinner is a red&white dotted mushroom!
The 6 pins one could do the trick perhaps.
Will give an update.
Iiiiiif this works it would be fun to to be able to change the pliers in our workroom into our favorite colours.
And for others it would be a solution for a plastics (PP polypropylene) :@ allergy.
Succes I second the idea above. Covering them with something just isnt practical unless you glue them with a pretty strong adhesive, and frankly I cannot guarantee that pressure and friction wont unglue whatever you put on top of the handles. Just put on some disposable gloves, or very thin fabric gloves; its the most practical solution.
