Vitelotte by Anke Telschow
ConstructionThe unusual construction starts with 4 separate slip stitch panels (for center front, back and both shoulders). Afterwards everything is joined by working 4 connecting pieces in main color, ending with a 3-needle-bindoff at the sidelines. The 2-colored panels on body and shoulders are worked with slip stitches – no Stranded Knitting skills required.Yarn, gauge and needle size
Approx. 950-1400m main color MC and 220-270m contrast color CC of a Fingering weight yarn needed which knits up to 27 sts x 38 rows in Stockinette and approx.
30 sts x 54 rows in slip stitch pattern.
Main needle is 3,0mm; use a 2,0 mm needle for Garter ridges and edges.(At a gauge of 25 sts, the piece would get approx. 1 size bigger. You could also work at any gauge by given measurements only - some of my testers have successfully done this.)The sample was worked in handdyed Seehawer & Siebert Turin (60% wool, 20% silk, 20% Ramie, 425m/ 100g) together with Skudderia handdyed Pinta (same fiber mix and yardage).
