on a side note, I know it isnt your fault, but this pattern is mislabeled by the publisher - it has some back stitching but has too much cross stitch to be called blackwork.

Yeah, I thought that it was a strange name to give it - the blackwork Ive seen before is very intricate and even the minimal backstitching on this one is pretty basic. Theyre pretty though, so I guess thats the main thing :)
I havent done proper blackwork yet, but its so beautiful, isnt it!

I love blackwork!I doubt i can ever master getting it double sided though, so maybe i am not actually doing proper blackwork?But i still love it more than cross stitch.It is soothing.
