will try some of these tips as I have rust needle stains at the edge through not touching the embroidery for far too long.....:)

I moved into a house where all the wallpaper was yellow with old smoke.It took a lot of scrubbing to get it clean

I remove yellowing on fabric washing it with oxiclean powder even if the fabric is stitched it doesnt discolor either the fabric or the stitching. You may have to wash it twice.
