Duplicate files and repaints... My questions

Hello, I just had a few questions about uploading.
1. If there is a pattern listed in scans, is it okay to do repaint and upload it?
2. If yes, then should I report the older file somewhere?
3. If I want to repaint in a magazine, do I have to upload the entire magazine worth of repaints? Or would I do each one separately?


I have a bunch of scanned patterns on my computer to convert and share, but I just wanted to know if it is okay first

1. Sure! They are separate categories, and completely different formats. Scans are the version everybody can open and use without any software they dont already have and they are "static", while repaints need special software or apps and they are editable.

2. Scans and repaints are not duplicates of each other. If theres a scan of a certain chart on the site, you can upload the repaint version of it, and similarly, if theres the repaint of the chart on the site, you can upload the scan. However, if theres already a thread in the same category you want to upload, please make sure your copy is better, otherwise, itll get recycled. Also, please check the format for repaints. Its allowed to post the same pattern both in .pat and .xsd formats.

3. Repaint is the only section where you can upload any patterns taken from books and magazines individually without any restrictions (save for duplicates, and you have to indicate the exact issue of the magazine the patterns taken from). If you want you can upload the entire magazine in one thread, but its not necessary.

By uploading a repaint pattern from a magazine, please add in the titel the designer and the magazine, you may add a picture from the pattern from the magazine, that is all we need + a picturefrom the repaint.

Hello.
1- If a pattern is already on the forum as a scanned pattern,and not as a repaint,you may upload the repaint. But be sure the repaint of the scan does not already excist.
2- No you dont have to report the older file.
3- If you have a pattern out of a magazine,you have to upload the whole magazine. Again,be sure the magazine does not already excist on the forum.
