Why is this not possible with iBooks? This would make the search for designers or motifs much easier.

Greetings from Tinka On my computer, I sorted by designer, not by name or theme. Why do you want to search ibooks? Are you trying to find if you downloaded a project?
I very rarely look at my ibooks. Iorganize my computer files by project. If you want to search any pattern you may write down the pattern or designer name in the main page theres a space for looking in the left upper corner Thats what I mean:
