Knitting box - what should I stock?
Hi everyone! One of the projects I'm working on right now is making a 'small' sewing/knitting box. What I mean with this is stocking up on more knitting notions, tape measure, etc. I've been knitting for a while now, made a lot of simple stuff and have a lot of projects I'm working on that would requiere a different set of needles (Only own a pair of 6mm knitting needles and 4mm DPNs) and a lot more markers. I'm trying to be frugal with this, but the reality is where I live I can get DPNS and circular needles for a little more than a dollar a size, 20 markers for a dollar, etc. And since I really have an interest in knitting, I feel it is justified. The question is, what would you reccomend I get? I know I should maybe stock up on stitch markers (Nothing fancy; those little metal 'lightbulbs' should work fine) and circular needles in sizes I would want to knit (I hate chunky wool so there's no point in a needle set.) What are some notions you find useful and use frequently?
This are my favorite tools for knitting. Hope it helps!
Cable needles, yarn needles, a small crochet hook for dropped stitches and a good pair of snips. a pretty notebooks to write notes about your project you are working on - i.e. needle size, rows you have worked (or need to work) Edited by Filokolobrzeg at 2025-4-17 20:06
Hi, I always need a mètremeasuring tape.
1x Needle gauge.
1x Jumbo needle for upholstery.
1x Yarn needle.1x cable needle.
I use scrap yarns as markers and I note on a printed pattern my knitted rows...
Thanks for all the suggestions people! Definetly helped me consider my options! :)
