Lots of stitch markers can help, or feel for each stitch with your fingers, or winging it as TaeLALA suggested. Winging it is the fastest, and no one will ever know that your stitches were not placed exactly perfectly.

Sorry, I referenced the wrong person. It was Mrrt08 that suggested winging it. Not TaeLALA

Personally, I just wing it lol idk if my stitches are correct or where I’m going. I just figured it out as I go lol

Winging it is a good idea ?

When I did an amigurumi project that required fur yarn I started off using stitch markers for each stitch until I got an idea of what each stitch felt like. From there it was all by feel and it was PAINSTAKING. I swore I would never again use fur yarn lol

You can try following:
- Crochet along with another thinner (colour-fitting) yarn that is easily visible: can make stitches easier to visualize
- Use your touch to identify stitches
- Use many stitch markers or pieces of scrap yarn to mark not only beginning of round, but also increases, decreases...

btw I hate working with that kind of yarn, but mostly because I can't keep my usual tension, so frequently the project ends up kind of deformed.
